Hypertransport Sync Flood Error

Thread Starter
I've been having this issue for about a week I think and can't figure out the problem. Everything is set to stock and everything has been updated but I keep crashing every 30 minutes or so while playing Bad Company 2. Then, once it boots back up, it tells me a Hypertransport Sync Floor Error occurred. I haven't had the issue in any other game but I have only played a couple other games.
Any ideas?

This is a long list of everything I've done.
1. Used different CPU.
2. Upped voltage to current CPU.
3. Upped voltage to RAM.
4. Used 1600MHz RAM underclocked to 1333.
5. Used different motherboard.
6. Used different PSU.
7. Changed drivers from 11.2 to 11.3 to 11.4 preview.
8. Upped GPU voltage
I did all of that with the 6850 installed and crashed every time.
I have also used a 4670 instead of the 6850 and didn't crash. The only thing I haven't changed is the HDD and ODD. I was later able to run fine for a few couple hours straight after shutting down multiple programs.

What's your vcore?
Try adding more voltage to your CPU.
Actually hold that thought.
MSI unsinked 4+1 phase.
Lower your OC?

As I said, everything is at stock.
And the computer was running fine until this past week or so.

Vcore is 1.290 in BIOS but 1.304 in CPU-Z

Push the vCore up to 1.375. 1.30 sounds slightly low, might be low enough for a heavy multithreading console port like BC2 to mess with your CPU.

For a Tri-core?

The absolute MAX you would try is 1.375, unless you want some blown fets.

Indeed. MSI's motherboards are ok,just don't do any serious OC with them.
I read a Maximum PC article,in which they built a "AMD/Crossfire Powerhouse". They used a MSI 890FXA-GD70,overclocking the X6 1090T past 3.8Ghz actually fried the motherboard (at about 4Ghz).
Still, that's a decent overclock, but it doesn't tap all of the potential the CPU has.
Moar cores!

i've had the same problem on my MSI 785g P45 motherboard too, the HTSFE error. It seemed to stabilize when i increased the voltage to the ram.

My 555's stock voltage is 1.375v. It isn't a frightening voltage on any phenom 2, or MSI mobo.
@KTS: Can you get your comp to crash under a prime95 in-place FFTs test?

That error can be from many things.First of make sure your HTT is no more than 2000.You have to check each setting as Auto does not always function they way you think it should.Make sure your NB is not too high.Make sure your RAM timings are set manually.AUTO timings often fail.If everything is correct, then I would increase RAM voltage to 1.65v.If you still get a fault then run memtest.

How bad are MSI VRM's?
