New laptop

Ok. By the end of May im going to need a new laptop for personal use and some stuff from work.

I would prefer it be a Dell because I get a sweet discount from them but its ok if its from another manufacturer. Ill be using it for general computing(Productivity, Web Browsing, Movies and Music, etc) and some fairly light gaming.
It needs to have an HDMI out for my upcoming monitor, 320GB+ of HDD space, 4GB of memory and A solid CPU and GPU. I don't want to have to buy a new laptop for a couple years.
My budget is somewhat flexible. I start at $600 but I can go up to $850 if I really need to.
Im looking at a 15" XPS, a Vostro 3500 or a Vostro 3550 right now but I would like to save some money and see what else is available. Help?

I would look at a Dell Inspiron 15R with the new Sandy Bridge chips. You can get either the new i3/i5 for around the price you're looking for.

Sweet. I was just looking at one. Ill need to switch out the HDD though, 5400rpm drives in laptops drive me nuts.
Hows the reliability?

I've been eyeballing them myself. For the price, that's one hell of a deal. If mobile SB CPU's are anything like their desktop counterparts, then they should be blazing fast.

I have owned many Dell products and have yet to have problems with them. The only problem I ever do have, is dying HDD's. It seems they like to use Seagate... lol

I do think the Sandybridge laptop CPUs are mad fast. Or at least I expect them to be based on everything ive read and understand about SB.
Im planning on buying either a Scorpio Black or a Spinpoint and slapping it in there anyway so that shouldnt be a problem.
Thanks.
