help! hard drive seen in BIOS but wont boot

Thread Starter
A little earlier today I was getting ready to go to sleep so I went over to my desktop to turn it off....and it was frozen on the windows screen. I didn't think much about it but I decided to reboot the computer just in case. To my horror, my computer opened a new screen that I have never seen before. "detecting drives please wait...". I retried rebooting it a few times and got the same result.

When into BIOS, the computer sees the hard drive as a sata device and it is set first in boot priority, so I have no clue what is wrong. Could it be that the hard drive failed?

I haven't modified or changed anything in this computer recently so I don't why this would happen. frown.gif
thoughts?

Good Luck!
Sometimes it doesn't work that way either, I had one drive that actually boots into windows and runs things, but errors, errors everywhere.
Threw it away cause everytime you write something onto it, it fails =S
