kewl! I think that worked. I am not saying success yet.. but of all games, dnf would make my pc kill over. (go figure)

I was able to get it stable at 4Ghz using Sandman's and Redwoodz suggestions

many thanks!

I am attaching pix of my settings... any other tweaking suggestions?

Again thanks.. I will post a follow up in a few days.

ok... temps are under control... but getting random bsod... Back to a modified stock for now. I need the stability for the next few days then on vac

However, if someone (sandman?) could pour over those screen caps and let me know where else to tweak? One thing is i think the memory is fine. In modified stock, i have 3.9Ghz turbo turned on (5 cores) and mem at the same settings as the 4Ghz oc and it is very stable. I am beginning to think my cpu is not up to par.

Have you been able to pass 24 hrs of prime95 yet? Things that may help you would be if you get a BSOD while running prime, it's usually due to a lack of Vcore (not always, usually), and if you get a "Worker has failed"error when running prime it's usually due to a lack of Dram voltage or CPU/NB voltage. I did notice you're running CPU VDDA voltage slightly higher than stock, this usually isn't ness for a 4.0. Auto should be fine. You may also want to manually enter 1.2 for the HT voltage and get that off auto as a test too.

With 16GBs of ram I wouldn't be surprised if you need a little more CPU/NB voltage or dram voltage too. See how it holds up by running LinX for 50 passes or maybe even some SuperPi. All that killer ram is going to stress the IMC in the CPU when OC'd especially.

If I don't reply soon enough don't be afraid to PM me too (just say hey, look at my thread or ask a question), I just started a new job that's kickin my butt lol. So I am a little behind in here already and it's only Monday. I'd much rather have that extra 10 hours a day to play here at OCN.

Reviving a dormant thread. I finally got the bread together for a real watercooling solution. I bought a swifttech rad mcr320, swiftech mcp655 pump. Prolimatech pk1 instead of as5. kept the same cpu waterblock, but removed the restrictive baffle (which seems to have helped).

I tried some runs at overclocking last night and temps were not an issue but still could not get 4Ghz stable.

I will start over and do some reading. But may still need help.
