Power requirement question

Thread Starter
Quick question.

On Newegg for power requirements for a 560 GTX Ti it says "Minimum 500W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 30A)"

Does that mean it needs 30 amps on each rail or is that combined ?

Also, does that requirement share the ampage with the 12v 4pin processor connector ?

Because I think it's referring to all the 12v rails and from what I see the PCI-E connectors and the 12v 4pin Processor connectors are all referred to as 12v rails but they have different purposes and uses ?

I'm behind on the lingo.

Edit - how does the whole multiple rail thing affect this as well.

The 30A rating recommendation is total, and is for the whole system. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371029 will run a normal system with a GTX 560 just fine. Get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207012 if you're like me and would want a PSU with two PCIe connectors rather than dealing with Molex-to-PCIe adapters.
