Hi,

When i open Computer Proprieties in my Windows XP Home Edition i see my cpu AMD 64 3200+ running at 998Mhz, why is this happening? I think it should run at 2.0Ghz, i opened up everest and it shows this (why is one core disabled?):

That speed it is showing is probably Cool'n Quiet working, the CPU reduces the clockspeed when idling to save power and have less heat. It goes back up when using heavy applications.

As to the Core, your CPU only has one core. Only Athlon X2's have two cores.

I don`t have any HT enabled and the clockspeed is always 998Mhz.

good thing you dont have HT enabled. it wouldnt be a 3200+ if it had hyperthread.
go check your multi in bios. make sure everything is what its supposed to be.

Try running Orthos and cpuz to see if the speeds go up


Also those are single core processors
