Warning to SSD users - Rainmeter - Page 4

It's a possibility since it likes to write and erase a lot of small files. If you are worried about rapidly increasing PE count (not all people are) then it's best to minimise write/erase actions on the drive as much as possible to ensure cells don't get worn out.

Not everyone is of the same mind as I, as some people upgrade and replace their hard drives every year or two anyway so it doesn't really affect them. If like me you like to squeeze as much life out of your components as possible then I think it's a good idea to look at all the little things like this and take precautions where necessary

p.s. I've definitely seen a reduction in the amount of new PEs since doing this, would be interesting to see if it is the same for others or if you are still finding that your PE count is shooting up; would also be cool to see if anyone has been monitoring and noticed any other processes eating up PEs so please do share!

I am on the newest firmware and I'm taking it from the average PE count, not from CDI
