Noctua vs h70

Thread Starter
I am so sick of the loud whirring noise I get from my PC at the moment, the case may not be helping but I really need to do something about this **** now. It's drive me insane and I'm starting to hate computers and stay the hell away from mine as much as possible.

The computer can reach nearly up to 50 db using an application i downloaded for my hd desire.

I am thinking of switching to watercooling quick, well I'm really tempted to order it today so I get to play with it on Friday soon as I finish work.

When your sleeping, you want almost dead silence. Will the cooler provide me with noise to this level?

I do have funnily enough a antec p183 which I haven't actually used due to accidently damaging when I tried to take off the front cover and accidently damaged one or two of the snap fits and worried about the vibrations. But I think I have no other option to just use it.

however how many db do you guys get if you could state your case that you guys are also using

You really won't see any improvement by switching from a noctua to a h70. You still need to use higher speed fans in order to get good temps and to sustain that 4.2 overclock.

The only way to get true silence is a full watercooling build with enough rad to be able to keep your fans on slow, otherwise nothing will change.

I would say :
Buy a RASA RX360 kit?
And add some gentle tyhpoons in P/P

If you want to measure Db, i can guarentee you that your desire is wrong, it may around 50 db but a phone is no db recorder. 2500k is faster clock for clock, but it will lose in multi threaded apps due to your 920's 8 threads. But in games the 2500k would be the way to go.

I can attest to the quietness of the rasa 750 kit. I am using it and ever since I got it, my system is WHISPER-QUIET.

I replaced the stock fans that came with the kit with some gentle typhoon ap-15s and the thing is barely audible. The pump that came with my system makes zero noise and the fans are legendarily quiet. If you wanna go for a near quiet setup, the rasa kit is the way to go.

Its also a great beginner water cooling setup, and it's cheap - but not cheaply made. I run my video card and proc off it for ultra silence

I know nothing about watercooling apart from the fact that you need tubes to carry the coolant, (does the coolant conduct heat and cool air better than water?) a noob so this may just sound so stupid, a pump to move the liquid (this must be the most noisest part of watercooling imo, a resevouir to store the liquid, and a block for cpu and cooling transfer, and possibly a block for cooling the gpu.

I know have a 5770 I don't know if I will stick with this card as it is so dire in connecting devices to it with 4 connectors but only allowing 2 connects to work at a time unless i have this dualport thing which I am still studying.

I would guess at having a very large base block for quietness.
Short tubes to move the water around quickly.
I don't know the pros and cons of the reservoirs the same goes for pumps.

I was about to purchase these fans, http://goo.gl/Nji3K lucky lynxx mentioned ap-15's.

Code junki, I understand that my readings can't be very accurate due to the nature of my device.
