help! pc crash!

Thread Starter
ok so, i recently built a computer and after several setbacks (whitch i shall not elaborate on...) i finally had my pc built. i gave myself a pat on the back and sat down to some S.T.A.L.K.E.R-ey goodness. i play for about 10 minuets and BAM! the pc just dies. whats stranger is that i have to switch it off at the wall for a few seconds before i can restart. i'm stumped. any help?

pc specs:
amd phenom ii x4 965 black edition
winpower 750w psu
some generic hdd and cd drive (i can find out if you need)
nzxt hades case
gigabyte nvidia gtx 460 soc edition
4 gb patriot gamer series ram
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) microATX DDR3 Motherboard

im using stock coolers on everything.
(and yes, the graphics card dosent fit the motherboard well, i blocks both the other pci slots and 3 of the sata ports. i can deal with that though.)

Did you do any overclocking?
if your overclocking your CPU, since you have a stock cooler might be heating up to much thus being unstable and crashing your computer / games

hmmmm....seems your Psu isn't the problem so im going to assume its your cpu being unstable/overheating
if you overclocked, did you run prime 95?

considering you have to completely cut power I would also take a guess at a motherboard issue since this is one things that is always supplied power unless you hit the main switch or unplug. Just another guess.

ok, so far i havent overlocked it yet and the cpu is running within the 30-45 mark (30 idle, about 38-39 for most games, 40-45 for really intense games like crysis)

ill also add that the problem only started after i added my gpu (it ran fine off of chipset) and only happens during games. (personally i think my psu isnt up to scratch, it was a cheap £25 off the internet)

Never cheap out on the PSU It might have very bad efficiency and only being capable of delivering for example 500W while they say 750W.
