Cold start connection issue

Thread Starter
Hi guys! I have an issue that has been with me since I purchased my SBG6580 Cable modem gateway.

My PC:
-Wired to the gateway.
-Windows7 home 64bit
-hardware specs in sig
-Google Chrome v 10.0.648.204 is main browser

The problem:
When I boot up my computer, I cannot get a connection with any program for 1-3 minutes. When I finally get connectivity it is slow to respond and will fail to load webpages on occasion up to 10 minutes after start up.

The steps I took:
-Attempt MSN login right at boot.
-Attempt ping to www.google.com after boot.(immediately goto cmd)
-Duplicate both steps above on a wireless laptop in the house.

Observations:
MSN cannot login on my PC, but laptop has no issue.
My PC times out on all 4 packet attempts during ping test, laptop has no issue
Utorrent boots with windows and gives no connection issues/warnings, immediately shows seed and peer counts for current torrents active.

The utorrent working and nothing else really puts the icing on the cake. I bought my SSD for the OS so I can boot the pc and get online asap but then run into this problem. Please help.

Sounds like something is sucking up your machines resources. I had something similar nearly a year ago I got from surfing porn on my laptop.. I fixed it by reformatting. Give that a shot..
