So I went out and got a deathadder. While the shape definitely feels unusual coming from a sidewinder and claw grip, I think I might be able to get used to it, some say claw doesn't work with it, some say the opposite, so I guess I'll have to see if it works for me. The only real issue is when moving the mouse towards me it touches my palm which can be annoying, but it might actually give me better control. Before I plug it in, I uninstalled the microsoft intellipoint drivers incase it could somehow interfere with the DA, and the DPI button settings on the mouse still work. Just curious if this means there's some drivers leftover somewhere or if the DPI settings work even without the software with a default 2000/3000/4000 DPI. I wonder what would happen if I changed the DPI settings in the drivers then uninstalled them, would they revert back to the default or maybe they're stored on the mouse? I see that I have firmware version 2.44, should I get 2.45? The polling rate is 500hz by default, should I change it to 1000? I also hear that changing your sensitivity in windows mouse settings can cause accuracy problems, but is it safe to change it in the razer driver?

Which mouse are you talking about? The Deathadder does have this profile button on the bottom, but at default they're all set to 1800 CPI and 500Hz.

That's actually what I suggest that you do. The settings you choose will be stored on the mouse for sure if the mouse has some kind of onboard memory, but I don't know if that has to be true for it to work.

This is related to your last question. I read the changelog for the 2.45 firmware, and they said that they fixed an issue where the mouse settings wouldn't save when you uninstalled the driver software. I applied it to my DA and but their fix only works for CPI and possibly polling rate (I have it set to 500Hz anyway so I can't tell), because the lights turned back on.

There's hardly a difference between the two settings, so it's up to you.

I wouldn't. 450 CPI + 6/11 in windows is perfect.

I think you misunderstood me. I was talking about the sidewinder x8 I was using before and whether or not I had completely gotten rid of the drivers for it because I thought that it might interfere with the DA's drivers in some way.

I'm definitely having trouble clawing the DA so far, with my sidewinder I get a very high feeling of accuracy, haven't quite gotten a handle on this yet. I might return it, but I don't know what to get then. If the sensor wasn't an issue I'd probably get an imperator, and the abyssus seems fine if I was sure I wasn't getting one with the old firmware. The WMO and similar mice just aren't appealing to me.

Alright so the DA is really uncomfortable for me, I naturally try to adjust to get a better grip, but the back right of the mouse where I put pressure on with my palm just isn't grippable because of the flatness of the design combined with the fact that its ergonomic so the right side is even more flat. So I'm almost set on the abyssus for my next attempt.

The imperator and lachesis are interesting shapes, but I guess I should stay away from those since I lift my mouse up a lot, by the way has the philips twin eye z-axis issue ever been fixed with firmware in any of its mice, or is it a hardware problem?

The abyssus looks great, very similar shape to the sidewinder x8 which I love, the only concern being the edges on it. http://tinyurl.com/3ce89w4 As you can see in that link, at about the halfway height, there's an edge that sticks out, which I think would be the spot where the part of my palm that I rest on a mouse would go. I can imagine that being very uncomfortable. Someone said earlier that the newer abyssus's on the market come with the firmware that fixes the cloth jitter issue, when I get an abyssus how will I know if it has the new firmware? I can't seem to find the league of legends edition in any stores. I googled for a version history and I couldn't find anything. I'm not sure if I should go for the original abyssus or the mirror edition, the only difference is bigger buttons and a glossy material right?

The razer website ranks their mice as elite expert or essential, that doesn't really many anything when it comes to mouse/sensor quality right?

I warned you man. Deathadder is only for caveman hands.

Both bad, don't bother.

The edge from that picture is just photo trickery. If you've ever held a WMO, IO 1.1, or Xai your palm will feel right at home with the Abyssus.

You will know immediately which firmware it is by whether it jitters or not.

The old Abyssus' are complete garbage and unusable while the newer Abyssus' are among the best mice ever made.

Correct. Most of the "elite/expert" mice are just gimmicky while the "essential" such as the Abyssus and the Deathadder are their genuinely good mice without any gimmicks.

I've looked at a lot of videos and pictures and it sure seems to be the way I imagine. Isn't the WMO/IO 1.1/Xai more more identical to the deathadder? That's how it looks to me anyway. So if I don't have the jittering then I have nothing to worry about with the firmware? What specific issues did the older abyssus have just so I know what to look for? Also, by the old abyssus are you referring to the ones sold with the older firmware, or do you mean an older model, or the mirror version is the better one and the original is the bad one? How are the feet on the abyssus? A review I saw said they it doesn't glide as well and should be used on hard surfaces. Like was already said, the firmware got rid of the jitter with cloth, but does that mean it should work just as good on cloth as a hard surface?

i feel like my deathadder is too small to claw, so i palm it and its annoying how my fingers go over the top end of the mouse.

So far, the issues I've seen with the deathadder(on cloth) are: occasional 1-3 second delay on a click, right mouse button is recognized as being pressed even with its not and have to press it for it to fix, one time the cursor wouldn't move for a few seconds. Would these be a sensor problem? Maybe because I use it on cloth?

I wanna go out and get an abyssus right now but i have one quick question. I really don't like the mirror's glossyness, does the original have the new firmware?
