Do you plan to SLI/crossfire later? What resolution monitor are you using?

Any reason you'd not go with a cheaper version of either car? There are cheaper options for each. You can get one with a badass cooler, nonreference.

I'd suggest the gtx570 if you like to BOINC/FOLD or plan on keeping just one card, but if not and you plan on doing a 3 monitor setup someday the 6970's is supposed to be real good at 3 monitors. The Nvidia can only do this in SLI, not just with one card.

I'd say go for the HD6970.

Slightly more performance for the same price and even cheaper sometimes, I'd go for the 6970

I do have to point out that you posted in the ATI forums, which is going to be ATI biased.

Also, looks like the cheapest current newegg deal is $325 after shipping and rebates, not that bad.

not bad either.

Pretty close performance. I'd say either one is a winner, and should play the upcoming games with ease at your resolution. You can't make the wrong choice. Just choose red or green.

I say go with GTX 570 better driver with Nvidia plus it will help the CPU with the PHYSX on and more tessellation.
