Does this look like a problem. I just installed a new EVGA 580 GTX card and I am having shutdown issues. When I restart the computer it shows an NB overheat.. Does that look high for a temp on the NB? That temp is sitting idle at the desktop.. Should I be worried about this? Any way to lower the tempture?

I'd be VERY concerned yes! Especially if that's on idle. I'd compare that temp against Asus PC Probe to verify as well. HWMonitor sometimes acts up and does strange things like report incorrectly.

Could be NB HS needs to reseated with new TIM.

Could be a lack of air flow inside the case, and if that's not it you might lower the temp by mounting an old fan to the back side of the optical drive bay and direct the air flow over the heat sink. You can mount fan with zip ties to see if it helps.

It would be most helpful if you'd list all your systems specs in the user CP under rig sig so we all know what your working with, also include what settings you're at. This all I can come up with due to lack of system info.

What cpu cooler are you running? Everything looks very warm for idle temps.

My NB sits at 60DegC with all six CPU cores at 100% and three GPUs averaging at 80% usage. Its a very busy machine 24/7.

What case do you have? What and where are your fans located?

I recently removed my 140mm side fan (over my GPUs) and lowered my temps by 2degC. I just have a hole now.
