Why did they throw "nVidia PhysX" all over the game if they aren't even using it? frown.gif Hell, you cant even install the game without loading a physx driver, even on ATI cards.

They did use physX API/physics engine, they just didn't program it so that these calcs could run on the GPU. Most games that use the physX engine don't support gpu calculations, actually.

I'm not sure if it's technically a physX 'driver' that you're installing or not, but, yeah, if you want to play any game that uses the physX engine on your machine, you do need the physX application installed so that the games have access to it's library of methods.

However, like I was saying above, I really think they should start using a separate name and logo for games that only support software (CPU) physX. The way it is now creates there's a lot more games in which can benefit from a physX-enabled (i.e. nV) card than there really are.

Well, I thought nVidia PhysX (not any Physics built into the Engine) was ONLY GPU. Is that not correct?

Unfortunately not. The physX engine can use either the CPU or a supported nV GPU (if present) to do it's physics calculations. But in a general sense, the game code effectively tells the physX engine where to run the calculations. And the majority of games that use the physX engine (which requires the physX software) for their physics calcs do not direct the engine to use a GPU for the calcs.
