If you had the same problem with gt430. You may be pushing your rig to hard and its crashing? Or you have a problem w/ your monitors.

Its not crashing, its just a werid grey screen which i tried to describe in the OP.

We can rule out the graphics card since it was happening prior and after with new card. Dosen't sound like a PSU going symptoms.

Monitor or mobo we need to focus on.

Open the case, look at all the capacitors (little silver cans) to make sure that none are bulging or discolored. If so, then you have a mobo problem.
