I've hit a wall

Thread Starter
I have a athlon II x2 240 and I cant seem to get any more out of it.
My specs are
motherboard: ecs 790gxm ad3
kingston ram: 6gigs
CPU: 3.8Ghz @ 13x 1.5v
FSB: 292.5Mhz
HT link: 1170Mhz I could raise but i don't see the point
NB: 2340Mhz
RAM: 585Mhz effective 1169Mhz

Any Ideas would be helpful trying for that all mighty 4Ghz or is it even possable and still be stable
if you need any more info just yell at me.

1.5 volt -_-'
You have a 50$ chip why not try to last it instead of burn it ?

With that chip, probably no. You have a very good OC for a Athlon II X2.
How many sticks of ram are on the motherboard, and what CPU cooling do you have?

3 sticks? 2 sticks of the same amount is needed for dual channel mode, which makes the ram work faster than 3 sticks in single channel mode.
If it's fast enough for you it shouldn't matter, though you may see a difference with just 2 sticks of ram.
Ineed,an awesome feature on AMD motherboards is that you can swap out a low cost Athlon II dual core for a Phenom II quad core.
