AMD 9950 Over clock prob.

Thread Starter
I need help with an OC I am working on at the moment. It’s a Phenom 9950 Black edition Quad core 2.6 GHz. I currently have it running at 3.0Ghz with a Bus speed of 250mhz and a clock multiplier of x12. My core voltage is 1.36.

My question is it seem like at 3.0ghz it runs a little choppy. not all the time tho just when im watching online videos, or playing games i get random choppy lag like its missing a frame every few secs.

I’m wondering if I should increase my core voltage or maybe lower my bus speed? What do you guys think?

Its also running nice and cool 35C and 48C under load, so I don’t think temp is a prob.

3.0 is a pretty respectable OC for a Phenom I. I was unable to get my old 9850 above 2.7 stable. The choppiness could be a sign of instability. Have you tried stress-testing it?

If you can bump the IMC and HTT voltage try that.Could be anything really, just need to start the process of elimination.Make sure your HDD is functioning adequately, and your OS is not corrupted.

Redwoodz.. any time i mess with the HTT speed it seems to not boot, the default HTT speed is 2.0ghz. anything over 2.2 HTT my PC wont POST. i have ran Prime95 and a few other benchmarks with out a hitch. it seems to only show its ugly head when in games like, Crysis 2 and what not. also what is IMC?
