Selecting an IPS panel (eventually eyefinity)

Thread Starter
I'm noob when it comes to monitors.

From what I've seen, the Dell U2211H is pretty popular, but the response time seems a bit high.

This is another one that I'm interested in:
LG IPS226V-PN
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824005230
The response time that I've seen on other sites is 6ms, but newegg says that it's 8ms.

My budget is max $250ish, so anything high end is out of my reach

I'll also eventually be running 3 of them for eyefinity. The good thing about the Dell is that the bezels are same size on all 4 sides, while the LG has a thicker bottom bezel, so probably won't be as good as the Dell on 3x portrait.

Need help picking one. Any other recommendations are also welcome.

The Dell ultra sharp series is the high end of ips monitors. I would recommend you the u2311h, but that is a little out of budget at $300, but it can sometimes go for $270 or so. The u2211h is a very good panel to though. I actualy took apart my u2410, and the bezel before I took it apart was 7/8" and when I took it apart, it was 1/2", but you would need a different stand to attach them. An IPS eyefinity setup would be amazing though. Let me know how it goes!

Thing is though, both the U2211H and the U2311H have 8ms response time, and both use 6-bit. I think the LG is 6ms response (newegg says 8ms GTG, whatever that means, LG's site says 5ms, the only review site I found says 6ms), not sure about color depth.
The LG is also only $200 on newegg, and U2211H is $280, $230 on sale.

I only see it at $230 right now
Where did you find that $190?

I guess this is also an alternative:
LG E2370V-BF

8-bit, but ***, 14ms response time!?

GTG means gray to gray. My u2410 has an 8ms response time, and I don't see any ghosting or lag at all. It doesn't even look different than my Mom's 2ms panel. I believe they say anything under 18ms is good.

I'm waiting for a sale like that. after much research, I've decided on the 2211 for my portrait eyefinity setup. best sale i've found is $200 shipped from dell's ebay store (which is really rare). where have you seen the $190 sale?

What are you gonna use it for?
IPS suck at gaming but best for Photoshop and CAD. Has longer response time.
Cheap non IPS monitors are best for gaming because of shorter response time.
