Problem OCing Corsair Vengeance (2x4GB DDR3 1600 1.5V)

Thread Starter
I am trying to get this RAM to run at 1866MHz in my sig rig, but I'm not having any luck so far. I have read about others being able to take it up over 1900MHz with lower voltage than what I tried, so I am wondering what is going on with mine.

I have tried:

- Taking VCCIO from 1.0 up to 1.1 and 1.15, no luck.
- Upping the RAM voltage from 1.5V to 1.55V, 1.6V, 1.65V and no luck.
- Timing were changed to 10-10-9-27-2T during these tests. Stock is 9-9-9-24-2T.

As for my CPU, I am using LLC High with an offset voltage (I think 0.095) which comes out to 1.408 under load @ 4.8GHz.

I can run them at 8-8-8-21-1T, which is alright, but I sure would like to take them to 1866.

What happens is that my system will completely cut off right when I get into Windows, or shortly after, when I try OCing this stuff. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

One thing to note: the heatspreaders were removed since they couldn't fit under my NH-D14. I have some I could put on there, but I really don't think this is the issue. There's plenty of airflow in my HAF and they aren't getting very hot.

What is your CURRENT CAPABILITY at? try setting it to 110%. I am on stock 1.5V @ 1866MHz 9-9-9-24 but @ 4600 GHz.

Current Capability is 130%. I am amazed you're able to run it a 1.5V like that! even with 1.65V and lower CAS, I insta-crash when I start Prime95 or something.

I got the Vengeance that rated at CAS 8. I would try OCing your memory at 4600 ghz and see if that works.

Very nice htown as I am leaning towards ordering the CAS 8 corsair @ 1600 over the CAS 9 @ 1866.

Try 1.6V 9,10,9,28-2T, VCCIO 1.08V....if that works try getting it to 1T

I don't think this will help your situation at all, but just for some sort of reference I have clocked my Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb to 2133mhz with 1.652v. No other settings changes (i.e all left on Auto)

My CPU is clocked at 4.8Ghz, if that is relevant.

But like I said, I cant offer much help, as I am pretty new to overclocking, but it is possible to get the speed up there, and stable.
