How would you say that CPU bottlenecks the GPU? I want to get a new CPU and stuff to do SLI, but the 2500k is going to be pushing my budget unless I can sell this old rig soon.

The 460s are faster. They are roughly the same performance as a 580, but yours are overclocked so should be faster. Keep the GTX 460s. The 480s don't overclock too great on air.
