Ever wondered how to drop temperatures? well all i did was move my PC from on top of my desk to the floor ( which is made from carpet) and my temps have dropped to 38C idle on stock HSF, it used to idle at 44C on the top of the desk. Everybody always said DON'T PUT IT IN THE FLOOR CARPET IS BAD! Well all i can see is benefits. Just got to clean out the PSU dust filter a little more probably.

Thats not really true. Heat doest rise, but hot gas is more buoyant that cooler gas which is where this misunderstanding comes from.

As for this case, I can guarantee that the cases altitude has nothing to do with the temp change. There is something else causing this, like maybe conditioned air from a vent being more int hat area or some improved airflow.

The main reason I keep my PCs off the ground is because there is probably more dust down there.
