Quick rundown...kinda spoilerish...nothing game ruining.

Cage and Scorpion are combo beasts. Yeah, combo...almost Tekken-like feel to them. (With some limited juggling) Not just them two, the other fighters have them as well...and yeah, Tekken...there's even tag combos.

Single player (story mode) can get really ugly...especially during 2vs1 matches. Some of the fights are absolutely ridiculous. It's a challenge and most of your ai opponents aren't push overs.

Xray moves are different...and not easy to get off. A super meter that you fill up with hits/combos nets you the ability to use it (or Ex move or counter...which are the the lower two levels of the three parts to the super meter)

The fatalities range from corny, to downright hilarious. (No spoilers here, sorry)

I'm still scratching the surface being about halfway through sp mode. Btw: a stick isn't a necessity but Street Fighter style stick owners be warned: the button layout will irritate you time and again. Thought about picking up the tournament edition, but I already have a TE stick that's more than enough...even though I catch myself hitting the wrong button (instead of block)

I like it...8.5/10. Could be a little more polished, but it is what it is, a relatively solid 2D fighter, with some imbalance.

Thread Starter
So I picked up MK today at toys r us for $30 after coupon. Was waiting for a deal and I guess because of the PSN issues, they have been discounting their newer games. In any event, I started playing story mode and I like it a lot. it is not an easy game but if you played MK before, especially in the arcade like me, everything comes back pretty fast.

Graphics are great and the story is pretty cool. I give it a 9.2 out of 10. If you get a chance, Toys r us has this for $39.99 this week. Get the coupon out of their instore game magazine flyer for another $10 making this a $29.99 game. I do not think I need to tell you this is a great deal on a great game!
