Are you looking forward to windows 8?

Maybe. Windows 7 works great for me right now.

I'll grab an RC when it is available just to see if there are any major differences.

At this point? Not at all. W7 has finally gotten comfortable with 3rd party/IT support.

Not really. Win 7 is a great thing. Plus, if you look back in time, every time Microsoft has made a good OS, they make a Fail one (98 win > ME fail > XP win > Vista fail > 7 win) so yea

Actually not so much.

Win2000 was a hit in its day. WinXP at launch was not fun to work with, and was criticized quite a bit. Only after SP1 or so did people start warming up to it.

And the Windows App store...

And maybe the only diff is, it's going to eat more RAM and the GUI

I'm very satisfied with Windows 7 right now. I don't see any hype for Windows 8.

As many have said, it's not really interesting if you're already on 7. I could see XP and Vista users being hyped though.

Also, lol @ only Win 7 users in this thread.

Stay tuned, there is bound to be an XP or Vista User to come

Does a win98 user count? (vm only...hehe).

Honestly I'm looking forward to the beta, rc, rtm, etc. Just to try it, see how it works out, etc. But at the same time, evaluate the crap outta it, criticize every decision made for it, and see if it lives up to what they say... Then try to break it...

Make it cry... make it... fail... miserably, horribly, and then define it...

...that'll be me then!

If its less resource hungry, physically smaller, and has less fluff, furry dice, and leopardskin seatcovers than W7, then I'm interested!

Would rather see a slimmed down, lighter version of 7, than even more poinless bloat, which is how I assume the next incarnation will end up!

I also expect DX12 to be available on Windows 7 which will keep it useful for gaming for the next 10 years. Even if DX13 was released within 5 years, it'd still take ages before developers would use it
