mine goes to s3 sleep every night (which is pretty much off in terms of power consumption). If I didn't go visit my parents once a month it would never be fully powered off.

Mine is always open if by open you mean exposed. AS far as leaving it on... it depends on which computer. I have a laptop that never shuts off. My main rig I used to leave it on 24/7 and only shut it down for upgrades, cleaning or if I needed to for an install. Now though since I have it on a far more complicated and expensive cooling system I tend to shut it down when I am done with it for the day. But once I get a few more pieces I will again have a never shut off rig again.

I remember in the early 90's when you were proud that your machine could stay on for 24hrs...

I've had my computer on straight for probably a week once, but usually its always off at night and try to keep it off during the day if I'm not using it for awhile. I don't care about my electric bills, but its better for it not to be constantly running.

I was thinking of folding for one month though during the night and daytime sometimes, and see how much it changes on the electricity bill.

It's basically always on, folding constantly. There is very little reason to reboot ever.

I usually leave mine on until it needs to be updated or something needs to be fixed or patched. Other then that, it is always on.

Only time my laptop turns off is when it won't go to sleep. Which only happens at work.

My rig on the other hand doesn't stay on longer than like 12 hours at most. Just because I don't see reason to leave it running when power ons take so little time. Lol.

According to Aida64, nine days and four hours was the longest consecutively since the operating system was installed (about eight months ago).
