Phenom II X6 1095T trying to break the 4Ghz mark!

Thread Starter
Hai guys, having some issues with my rig, i cant seem to get my chip stable at 4.ghz.
I got it stable at 3.8ghz, my H50 keeps it at 40 o/c so theres no overheating that im aware of.
I've read that the Crosshair III has some issues with X6's, just wondering if any of the wizards on here might have any ideas or input.
Im happy with it at 3.8Ghz, i'd just like to get it to 4Ghz is i can.

Cheers peeps

Heya smile.gif Are your cores at 40C or your cpu? What are you using to monitor your temps? I am no wizard but H50 would have hard time keeping x6 under 40 on load, and what on what voltages are you trying 4ghz?

that is probably 50+ the monitors have trouble reading the proper temps of the x6. You should probably not go higher with that cooler. I run my 1095t at 4.0 at 1.4 volts and my monitor also states that its at 36~ degrees at max load which is wrong. You have to add 10~13 to that value or just look at the socket temps.

I've not touched the voltages yet, i never used to go in for the whole overclocking deal, i killed my old rig by overclocking so i kinda gave it a rest lol

Currently my temps are 35-40 idle 40-45 under load
I have temp sensors for my NZXT front bay and im using the crosshair poster for accurate temps.

FSB - 200
CPU Ratio - 100
CPU/NB - Auto
HT Link - Auto

As i said ive not touched the voltage yet, i wasnt really sure what i could change without bbq-ing my chip again lol

RAM is a combination of two kits, 1 is 2x2GB corsair Dominator 1600mhz and the other is 2x4GB corsair Dominator

Both are running at 1600mhz with the timings of 9-9-9-24

Oh and im currently running at 3.6 due to a BSOD i got this morning, i've tweaked the multi to 18.00, not 100 lol

Well if you havent touched your volts to get to 3.8 then hey good for you!. But looks like you have to for 4.0 ... first couple of things is turn off all your Cool N Quit, CE1, etc.. next take your HT link off of auto and keep it as close as possible to stock speeds, a little under or a tad over is fine but as close as possible... Im not the best at RAM but i do know you will get a better stability if you stick with 2 sticks of RAM. and in order to get stable you might need to underclock your ram to get stable CPU then after start messing with your RAM. But someone pleaase correct me if i am wrong...

After all that is done you have to mess with your volts

This is why.... creep the vcore up just a touch and give it another go, you wont hurt the CPU with just a little increase. That CPU should go beyond 4Ghz with ease
