Any downsides to using this LCD TV as a monitor? - Page 2

I don't have much personal experience in this case, but I just ordered a 32inch LG and was worried about the same thing.

But then today I saw my friend play Xbox360 online with his 42" Sony. He said it was around $450, so I assume it isn't some special, over-the-top crazy nice tv.

I'd say a 32inch will do just fine, even in gaming. I can give some personal input when my 32inch get here in a few days biggrin.gif

Not a good idea to use tv as monitor. unless you just use it for movies.
Forget about reading any kind of texts on a tv.

you will be disappointed if you buy a tv for computer.

I've had my 32inch for about a week now, and it's pretty awesome.

cyznot is right, it's really great for movies/games, but as far as using for extended periods doing anything else, not so much. It kind of hurts the eyes, and that when I'm sitting 4 feet away on a couch. If I were up close (like a desk) I'd imagine it'd hurt my eyes even more.

My setup is a laptop that I hookup to my TV occasionally, so I can browse on my 13inch screen, and game on my 32inch. I really like it

You can just set the DPI higher in the control panel?

That, mostly.
