Mushkin Callisto Deluxe 120GB Raid 0

Thread Starter
Hey guy's I just finished setting up these ssd's in raid 0 using my motherboards intel controller the ICH10. This is on a fresh install, no tweaks, I only installed the basics.

So how are my speeds? I also have a set of WD 640GB caviar blacks in raid 0 that are disconnected right now, I plan to connect them back and backup some of the stuff to a different drive and so forth. I then plan to take them out of raid 0 and put them in raid 1. Will having two different kinds of raids on one controller lower performance? I can also run other benchmarks.

Are you using 2 60gb SSD's or 2 120's, not to thread jack but are SSD's faster in raid0 ?? I am asking because I just picked up a Mushkin 120.

Try the ATTO Disk Benchmark. That's the one most OEM's use......I think.
I think you mean "Callisto" for the drive names.

Thanks, edited the title.

I ran another Crystaldisk bench and an ATTO bench.

They seem low compared to this.

Can you confirm you are using AHCI drivers? I tested my PC on AHCI then not on AHCI and I got the same delta as you are seeing.

Also, how long after the Crystal test did you start the ATTO? Typically you'd want to wait a while for a second test because TRIM doesn't function in a RAID array so you have to rely on Garbage Collection.

The link you posted doesn't say what SATA controller or version the guy was running on. I heard if you run SATA 3G SSD's on SATA 6G controller you get a little faster on speed. In your case, 50MB/s qualifies for "a little more speed".

If it's any consolation, I have 2 Corsair SSD's of the same 285/275MB/s 50K iops in a RAID 0 and I get 75MB/s LESS! than you. The sad part of it is I was originally going to buy the Muskkin version but they cost more $$$.

I waited a couple of minutes, he was using ICH10r while I am using the ICH10, which is the same thing if i'm not mistaken. By AHCI drivers do you mean the intel sata controller drivers because I have NOT installed any with this fresh windows install.
