Instead of making something mechanical, let's just make something like an EVA: a giant genetically modified "human". EVAs ren't machines after all. To prevent the thing from going berserk, don't make it grow a brain. Then put some hi-tech cockpit linked to the nervous system somewhere on the thing. Profit.
You wouldn't happen to be affiliated with the Human Instrumentality Committee/SEELE, would you?

More like a high strength metal cable, I think it would break a rope.

Awesome project! I doubt it'll really go anywhere, but you never know.

You guys are funny.

Since when did you two get to decide how we all spent our extra after-tax dollars? Maybe everyone involved in this project should apologize for having a hobby, sell their house, give their clothes to the poor, and become full-time public servants.

And on that topic, you're both hypocritical for even having a computer. Sell it, now. And give the money to the education system or reduce public debt with it. Also, sell anything else you have that isn't absolutely necessary to your survival, and never spend a penny on doing anything fun again.

Ok mr extreme its called a joke. I just find it funny that some one would spend money on something like that. I said nothing of selling thing a becoming a public servant. And actually I do work for the school system and it sucks. And If I did get to decide what we did with our tax dollars I can guaranty you that I wouldnt almost have a government shut down over it.

The Millennium Falcon is impossible to make. The inside physical dimensions are much larger than the outside dimensions. Ever notice how big the different rooms are inside during the various scenes and how long the hallways are as they run around in them. Then look at how small it is when they are standing outside the ship.

I even read an interview with George Lucas where he admits it's obvious that the scenes inside the Millennium Falcon don't make sense because the interior is much too large.

Sorry to burst your bubble...
