You need to try a dedicated server and see if the issue persists with wired.

I dont use wired connections, will give the game a shot running on only a dedicated server see if that helps any

Is there a way you can check your connection quality during the game, so you can compare right when the problem occurs? My buddy had this problem and connection would drop off for a few seconds at regular intervals.

Not as far as i can tell, this software will show the Link Quality and signal strength but not in game

OP, if your download speed is only 1Mbit/s, chances are your upload speed is even less. Upload is important if you want to maintain a low ping. Do a speedtest and post results.

check back a page i have posted 5 different runs with it

heres a pic of my CPU useage during a quick attempt at L4D, in which the stuttering is still happening

Right click and then click "select all" then press enter.

If the issue is happening outside your home network then it most likely is your ISP.

If you are having issues with your wireless link quality you could try changing the channel it is broadcasting on. (router setting)

No man. Upload is not a reason.

I sometimes get speed as low as 850 kbps download and 0.2 mbps upload with ping of 80 ms.
I have played with 12 guys Racedriver G.R.I.D with no problems WHATSOEVER.
speed is not a factor.

right somethig has happened!

i installed that Game Booster thing, tired a Versus game and it went smoothly - of course this was on the dedicated server but its a start, so maybe something that it closed was hogging some of my internet or something?

Going to try on one of the Versus or Co-Op ones that i have been trying before on which i was getting lag and i will report back - now if only there was a way to make it so that when you exit the game all the programs that you had selected to close when starting a game would restart themselves

I told you it will improve your gaming.

Keep posting on your latest developements.

To make them restart , the closed programs just right click taskbar icons and click back to normal mode.
Everything will resume as normal

Nope. Nothing with Steam.
It just works by suspending unrequired stuff(during gaming)
Simple but effective program.

No prob! Happy to help.

Just to let you know all that Game Booster does is almost the exact same thing that the AMD Vision Utility does, which is shut down programs and tasks that are unnecessary to be running. What you have sir is CPU usage problem. Something is making your processor spike. I would open up task manager again and this time go to the processes tab and look for a process that is jumping around A LOT and putting up big numbers. Glad the utility helped you out
