What would be the best thing to do?

Hey guys.. so basically I am going to build a new gaming rig this summer. My plan is to collect the money and order the parts by the end of June (well HOPEFULLY!). I am telling you all of this because it is kinda related to my question..

At first place I was thinking about getting a Fermi graphic card, but then I found out that Kepler will be comming out in the second half of 2011.. So I was like " hmm, I gotta wait for Kepler for the better " but I am not sure at all what to do.. Is there an exact release date?Does it mean that they will be available to buy in the second half of 2011? I wanna know cuz if ' second half of 2011 ' means september-octomber I won't be able to wait cuz it would be just too much for me I mean, my PC is not even close to a good one (its like 7 years old and I cant just wait another 3-4 months)..

So, do you think I definitely must wait for Kepler? Is it REALLY gonna be worth it? Will I regret in the future if I buy a Fermi-based graphic card? as a whole, what should I do or what would u do in my situation?

I wasn't really sure how to ask this, but believe me.. I can't decide this myself!

Oh yeah exactly.. and that's why I am being confused the most..
There is ALWAYS something else.. like, I could also go like ' hm why not wait until 2012 and buy an IB cpu?'
But the GPU concerns me a lot now, because for example if I buy a Fermi-based graphic card and after like 2-3 weeks Kepler came out.. i might regret! oh no idea..

Really depends how far away the next big items are coming out. For me, Im not going to wait 1/2 a year for something. I skipped the first of the i7s and i5s now im going to buy something that is pretty good right now. For me I always TRY skip a gen or two.

In your case it seems that anything is really an upgrade at this point.

Well there is no official release date of any kind right now so anything you hear will be strictly rumors or guesses. My guess for Kepler release date is November at the earliest. I don't think that you would regret buying a Fermi this summer like you planned because you would still be at least 3 months away from Kepler. The only thing I would recommend is if you really think you would be buying Kepler then don't buy $1000 worth of Fermi, what I would do is buy just enough GPU as you need so that if you decide you must have Kepler you won't lose quite as much from the resale. I would think that if you wait for a deal you should be able to get a 560ti for ~$200 this summer around the time you are looking, if you can do that then you probably wouldn't lose more than ~$20 if you choose to resell it and upgrade to Kepler and you wouldn't have been without a card for that time.

Yep I need a graphic card that performs well and will fill my requirements perfectly.. Kepler is not a must for me, I only want to do the best thing.. Yeah hopefully the prices of the graphic cards will get lower by June and maybe I can come out with some better card That sounds like a good plan. And anyways, I can change to Kepler-based card at any time..

Thanks..
