GTX 570 with GTX 480 heatsink. MSI being cheap?

It seems some people are getting GTX 570s with a GTX 480 cooler and decal. Is MSI being cheap? Or is this better?..

Here is the product page at a UK retailer and apparently some people have gotten these too.

Why so cheap MSI.

Isn't that about the area where the VRMs and stuff are, and some GTX 570s have blown?.. Hahaha

I think 480 coolers look awesome. I can see an MSI logo on the PCB, wonder if they added more power phases so it doesn't explode... Or wonder if they cheaped out so it's more likely to explode lol

This thread sorta made me laugh.

Anyways, it is disappointing, considering the stock cooler on the 480 and 570 are significantly different.

Yea I assumed it was a 480 then.. o_O

Well it's not too much of a bad thing but the GTX 480 cooler sucks compared to the vapor chamber one the GTX 570/580 use.

Yeah. I honestly don't really think it matters since GF110 is certainly less power hungry/cooler then GF100.

Well the cooler isn't as good as the other one. I guess they are recycling the heatsinks they had left since the 480s went EOL. :/

Yeah. It'd be nice to see 570 benchmarks (as far as temps go) with the 480 cooler and it's stock one.

I bet there wouldn't be much of a difference. And as far as most people's concern, they couldn't care less. Serious overclockers will put them under water anyways.
