You anti-apple-fanboys are more annoying than the Apple fanboys. In fact, I hardly ever see very many on OCN compared to the constant bashing comments I see.

Yes, I own an iPhone.. but I got my 3GS for $250 without contract. There's nothing expensive about that, and it does everything I need it to.

Even if people do pay more than for an Android phone when new (they're actually about the same price new these days), I have a news flash for you - even a $100 difference once a year isn't that much. Instead of trolling the OCN forums, go make something of yourself. Hell, $100 hardly pays for a wild night on the town, and people constantly piss and moan over people paying that much more once a year? Get a life.

I like my iPhone for what it is, it's fast, has good battery life, is simple and works fantastically 100% of the time. never have to mess with it. It just works.

Lol this drivel again. I build my own rigs but until I can assemble my phone I'll stick to my iPhone 4. The phone's merits speak for itself and I certainly didn't pay for a name and logo. If you don't see that an iPhone is comparative on a technical spec and UI level to other offerings, then you're just a plain old hater and a hypocrite.

That's what future-proofing is. Lots of companies do it. The nice thing about Android is the updates every six months +, instead of a year. Google can have it going in a shorter amount of time to keep up with the extremely fast hardware upgrades. By this time next year, dual core (or faster) and 4G will be standard on all high-end smartphones. Personally, I think the Tbold was the last hurrah as far as high-end single core phones go. But then again, I was shocked when they announced it having a single core in the first place.

The thing that makes me laugh the most is the world Jobs created with his, "If the iPhone doesn't have it, you don't need it" mentality, until obviously he develops a way to utilize it (backgrounds and multitasking come to mind). Thats the ultimate recipe for a successful business. Take the newest technology, say it's BS (because we all know if you call something out you know what your talking about and are right), and a year later call it the latest and greatest.

Other than the screen and build quality, it's mediocre at best.

Instead of the iPad being a giant iPhone4, the iPhone5 will be a mini iPad2 (hardwarewise).

I wonder if it will have a thunderbolt port on it?
If so, I can see it launching with an atrix-esque dock.

Heck maybe even a version of OSX Lion on it for when its docked. (oops, that will be the iPhone6)

I do highly agree with the bold. If he actually didn't do that, it would be a justifiable reason. If I were going to make a phone with a dual-core and advanced graphical ability, I would want to wait until it's being utilized and going full throttle.

Drivel??? I did not say I hate Apple, or Apple sucks, or whatever, I PLAINLY said I do not like the products they sell and the stigma that goes with the brand. I'm not even comparing the phone to anything else, because I don't need what other "smart phones" have. I use my phone for a phone, and texts. So don't put words in my mouth and surely don't call me a "Hater and a Hypocrite" just because I do not like a certain product that you own, OK? It seems to me by your response that you DO regret the price you paid for your "product" and thus feel the need to defend it to the death because someone else just does not like it (and I don't like Intel and Asus, you going to flame me for that too?). What car do you drive? I bet if I said that I did not like your brand of car, you would name call me like a 6th grader. I bet you would do the same about all the items you own. I really hate people like you who think that there can be no negative things said about what brands you own. You cannot censor me about how I feel about a certain product, I'm entitled to MY opinion and the right to free speech. SO if you feel differently, go whine somewhere else.

^ Woah, settle down there cowboy.

Yeah I'd agree the iPhone is now kinda lagging behind top-tier Android phones. I've read some reviews and some do admit the product is getting rather... stale. Minimal UI improvements, incremental developments in terms of core features, still relying on the established iOS-iTunes-App Store integration.

At least in Android, we get stuff OTA, port things if we want them to, emulate other user interfaces, enable USB host support, tether internet without a plan... :3

Yeah, settled down. Honestly I have not looked at these phones at all because the data plans are sooo expensive and I have my computer for the internet. I just don't have a need for them., but I do know what I observe about the sigma of those products is something I dislike. I have seen people so obsessed with with these products they end up isolated from normal people by the tech they own.

Yeah. It's not the iPhone by itself I don't like about it. It's the people saying it's so awesome like the second coming, while others are just mere "copycats." Yes, Android has spawned due to the revolution started by the iPhone. But, it has evolved and diversified that it should be classified as a powerful smartphone OS in its own right. It seems these Apple fanatics do not see how Android phones themselves push innovation by introducing features unique to the platform, forcing Apple to do better. Kinda sad that people don't see this healthy competition with unbiased eyes.
