ASUS6850 Problem

I get this line across my screen when I am playing battlefield bad company 2 and bioshock. I have vsync enabled, so it isn't that and the line occurs on lowest game settings as well. It is annoying because it happens all the time in bioshock, but only sometimes in bbc2. What should I do?

Ok, so I ran bioshock in DX9 and the lines are gone. Does that mean I need to roll back drivers on my graphics card. Because the lines were gone, but DX9 compared to DX10 is terribly noticeable. I also have to play the game on medium because it seems laggy if I don't which I didn't have to do in DX10.

Edit: I also can pull 60fps on both dx9 and 10 so it isn't that I can't handle it. I don't know what it is really.

Try turning VSync off.

When you say lines, are you referring to screen tearing? If so, I used to get them too with Vsync on, and turning it off fixed it.

Well, I turned it to always off and it is still giving me the screen tear. I don't know what to do. This is pretty aggravating considering it makes the game impossible to tolerate. I also just got bioshock 2 and it does the same. They were both on steam for $5 each two days ago. I honestly think it is just ATI's crappy drivers. I tried rolling back to every driver from 10.1 and up. Nothing works the only way to get the lines to go away is play it in dx9 which isn't acceptable to me for the graphics card I have.

EDIT: I play mafia II full out and it never gets those lines. So I don't understand.
