Say Hello to My Little Friend (Refurbished Dell U3011) - Page 3

Thread Starter
From what I read, I only need a single dual-link DVI cable to display the 2560x1600.

When I go into nvidia control panel, the resolution output says 2560x1600. However when I go to the monitor display settings it says this:

Main Source: DVI-D1
Resolution: 1280x1600@60Hz
Max Resolution: 2560x1600@60Hz

So it seems like the monitor says it's using resolution 1280x1600... idk, maybe I need two dual link dvi cables or something.

<_< HDMI limitation not Dell's issue.

EDIT: It depends on what version of HDMI Dell has implemented.

EDIT 2: If it has HDMI 1.3 it should be able to display 2560x1600! :0

A single dual link cable will do 2560x1600..works fine for me. Try a different DVI port on both ends..

I had the same problem you did when trying a single link DVI..are you sure both ends are dual link?

I very much doubt your monitor is broken or bugged..mine did the same thing til I hooked it up properly.

Okay so ...here's a follow up. It turns out that the DVI#1 on the monitor is defective. I plugged the cable into DVI #2 and it works and looks gorgeous. I called DELL support and it's under 3 year warranty free shipping both ways. I'll probably end up getting my refurb replaced w/ another one soon. In the mean time i'm still checking out the monitor. thx for the replies.
