Price-wise they're inhibitive, but have you looked at the new AMD Radeon 7970s?
If you aren't stuck to NVIDIA (like I am for 3D Vision), you can ponder over them as one of those with your proposed Ivy Bridge build would be brilliant. Mind you, so would one of these 570s and yes, the 7970 prices are deadly so I'd understand if you shrugged them off.

I'd need a new monitor to take advantage of the extra memory, I'm pretty content with 1080p gaming right now. I was looking at the 7970s, but 599.99 is pretty hefty right now. I'd rather go for a 7950, BUT I've never been impressed with ATI's driver support and catalyst software (been an ATI user forever now since the 9700 pro days). I'm fed up with having games run like crap on ATI drivers all the time. I'm venturing into new territory with Nvidia and hoping I'm not disappointed. Also I can always grab another 570 on boxing day and run an SLI. thumb.gif I don't think any games will be surpassing Witcher 2 or BF3 any time soon to be honest.

Have you guys tried maxing out NFS the run on the card? mine is lagging. But according to after burner the usage is not reaching 40%, and the temps are below 51%.

I'll be honest, I didnt read the whole thread. But are there any Hardmods for this card? eg.: OCP
Because I would really like to hit 1100MHz with this! I have a universal block on it and TFIII fans over the mossfets, but I can't get to 1100MHz
I have voltmoded it in Nibitor and I can get to 1.265v, its stable at 1060MHz but not at 1065. So I think its OCP blocking it! Any ideas??
Btw my score for 3dmark11 is P8105. maximum I could push it...

Here is a sample pic of the chip! Does anyone know which of the pins is the OCP one?

Hehe agreed. BF3 is pretty much the pinnacle at the moment, particularly since the rest is catering for consoles. Besides, the proposed hardware is already going to be faster than the next consoles so it'll handle well for quite a while, particularly with two 570s in SLI.

Exactly my case a month ago. I sold my Gigabyte 6950OC and got my TFlll 570. Best decision i ever made. I know ATi is cheaper and what not but in the end it aint worth squat. Almost every new game released the in past two years had issues with Ati, its depressing how bad their driver support still is. They need to start paying more money to the developers because nvidia does and its working for them. Plus with nviida you get that awesome Geforce site.

Big Coincidence, i just finished a 2 hour session. Its a horrible game but i got it for free. Im playing at Ultra settings, 1920x1200, Anistrophic 8x forced and CSAA 32x forced but the game never utilises more than 60%, ive checked it in afterburner. Its not you, its the game. Its a very bad port, probably worst of last year.

30 fps cap and no Anti-Aliasing on PC, EA are a bunch of morons.

hey guys just got mine used from a friend and it hasn't worked too well for me.
The card has a vid of .975 which seems good, but it isn't stable at more than 840mhz, passing 3dmark11 in a loop and several minutes of OCCT but crashing after 10 minutes of witcher or crysis2. I had to up the voltage to 1v to be stable at 850 and decided to move forward.
I'm not stable at 880 @1.05v or 900 @ 1.075 either... my only stable high OC till now is 900 @1.1v which seems very poor... maxing core and pll voltage in afterburner is stable up to 940mhz, but again, i've only tested in OCCT and 3dmark which doesn't mean it's 100% stable...
This is a huge let down for me as all the parts i got this year are crappy clockers, mi 2500k is only stable at 4.5 with 1.335v too frown.gif
By the way i'm using the latest 290.53 beta drivers, updated yesterday from the latest certified version, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
My temps are also crazy high compared to yours as i'm getting high 60s under OCCT at sotck clocks and volts and high 70s with 1.1v so i don't feel comfortable pushing it any higher :S but it's summer here in Argentina so maybe that's the reason... at least my H50 is keeping my cpu quite cool.

Now a question for those getting good OCs with this card... latest GPUz can read the "ASIC quality" which supposedly mesures the power leakage of the chip and is used by Nvidia for binning purposes... I'm getting 84% which doesn't seem that bad but throw yours in and let's compare...
I'll keep investigating and see if i can somehow get better clocks, although i'm only looking for something i can use 24/7 stable, something like 900MHz but at lower volts at least...

By the way nice thread you got here, plenty of useful info and excellent results... the reason i was so excited about this card and the reason i'm so let down now

I got 83.7%

Best I can get stable is 900mhz at 1.084v (stock = 0.975). Higher clocks freeze it, even at 1.125v. So our overclocks and ASIC seem to compare, but still voltages differ.
Maybe they do... last night after writing that i tried to run 920mhz again at 1.1v and played Bad Company 2 Heavy Metal mission several times... 880 @1.05v and 900 @1.075 crashed that game after a couple of minutes but this time i was able to complete the mission two times with no issues and played crysis 2 blowing some things up for a while so hopefully it's stable.
Then i lowered the voltage to 1.088 and tried again with no issues, but i didn't test any settings enough to feel comfortable...

What do you mean by "higher freezes it"? only once i got a BSOD and reboot, all my crashes are black screens and desktop or driver stopped responding errors, which leave me clueless as i can't tell if they are driver bugs with the game or unstable clocks

I have read that the ASIC quality has to do with leaky capacitors how much power is being lost etc (not my field) but apparently its still very bugged as many people are getting scores way over 100%.
Here is mine just for s&g. Havnt done much over clocking except when i got it. Ran it at 950mhz with voltage maxed in Afterburner. Didnt break 71 Degrees after after hours of stressing.

I tested mine for about 10 mins but I didn't get ASIC results, how did you get urs?
