try toothpaste!
i am not saying brush your teeth lol
toothpaste works as a thermal paste until it dries up,just give it a shot to see if you get POST beeps.
It is true but if you are getting proper thermal paste tomorrow its not worth the messing around.

its true sir i swear!
so i changed my boys pc about last week and when i went to reapply the TIM i found i didnt have any left, now i needed to back up all his homework so i prayed then put on some of colgates finest lol,had it running 20 minutes
(just long enough to back up the data)
and had coretemp running while it was doing its duty.
Temps never went above 40c.
this was a 3ghz prescott,i wouldnt have mentioned using toothpaste just for a POST test
(10-40 secs?)unless i was sure it worked.
i wouldnt use for normal running though.
