What are you talking about "for the past 2 years"?
Err, Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Unless you just want the pure "Battlefield" Title.

(oh and competitive doesn't mean to stupid little GB and MLG leagues, the only true competitive Cod is Cod 2 and Cod 4, but they are both old.
Realism = BF3
Graphics = Metro 2033 & Crysis 1 (notice how I said 1 and not 2? Because Crytek is a sellout!)
Cod 1 = Cod 2 = Cod 3
Cod 4 = Cod 5 = Cod 6 = Cod 7 = Cod 8
I won't call Cod 8 the next game, I will call it a re skin! Same engine since Cod 1.
Quake 3 = IW 3.0 = IW 4.0
IW and TA aren't game developers, they are re skinners!
lol. Come on, there have DEFINITELY been changes with Cod 1
. Also, (for me at least) Cod 6 ran better than Cod 4 so though it may have been the same engine, optimizations were made.
Afterall, why fix something that works?
If they decided to make a new engine everytime, we will most likely have the most buggy series of games to ever be released. Idk, call is Call of Bugs, Bugs of Duty. Whatever works
Developers release engines -> they build games on them -> They find bugs/optimization issues -> they teak -> repeat cycle until the need arises for certain implementations which require an engine overhaul -> Make new engine and restart cycle.
