(oh and competitive doesn't mean the stupid little GB and MLG leagues, the only true competitive Cod is Cod 2 and Cod 4, but they are both old.

Realism = BF3

Graphics = Metro 2033 & Crysis 1 (notice how I said 1 and not 2? Because Crytek is a sellout!)

Cod 1 = Cod 2 = Cod 3

Cod 4 = Cod 5 = Cod 6 = Cod 7 = Cod 8
I won't call Cod 8 the next game, I will call it a re skin! Same engine since Cod 1.

Quake 3 = IW 3.0 = IW 4.0

IW and TA aren't game developers, they are re skinners!
How can you call Crytek a sell out, they noticed a market, thats bigger than the PC gaming market, and moved into it. You can't complain about a Dev moving to consoles as well as PC, when theres enough money in it to FUND the game itself.

PC gamers are so pissy anyway (FPS blah blah blah) you should be grateful they didn't tell us to to F ourselves.

IW went bankrupt IIRC.

The only map that comes close is Heavy Metal and that is too funneled.
Once again...

however I love battlefield bad company very much,
the best 4 games I've ever played are:
1> crysis (series)
2> call of duty (series)
3> battlefield bad company (series)
4> assassins creed (series)

Chill out, dude. I didn't say anything about the games using the same engine, I just mentioned which ones in the series I preferred.

I literally was so bored by COD:BO playing the SP game... Bf3 Is what i'm waiting for. Plus at least DICE doesn't charge you $15 for 5 freaking maps... Never again.

Seeing how battlefield 2 is better than black ops and is how old? BF3 clearly.

lol. Come on, there have DEFINITELY been changes with Cod 1 . Also, (for me at least) Cod 6 ran better than Cod 4 so though it may have been the same engine, optimizations were made.
Afterall, why fix something that works?
If they decided to make a new engine everytime, we will most likely have the most buggy series of games to ever be released. Idk, call is Call of Bugs, Bugs of Duty. Whatever works
Developers release engines -> they build games on them -> They find bugs/optimization issues -> they teak -> repeat cycle until the need arises for certain implementations which require an engine overhaul -> Make new engine and restart cycle.

its okay to reuse the same engine for 2 games, 3 and beyond = LAZY. They could have AT LEAST re wrote it......

Crytek are sellouts because they made the graphics worse than the original, I can't care less if they expand to console, but they should follow the golden rule of expanding into console: Make the PC version the best it can be, and then make the textures lower resolution blah blah blah for console so they can run it.
