Thanks for the info. I would really appreciate your opinions on the best choice between the 2 for my system w/sli

Also just wanted to ask, there is 4 3/4"-1" rubber feet that the psu sits on in the antec 1200. would it be safe to run it fan down without drilling/cutting holes in the case? not sure if that gap would draw enough airflow but i prefer not to butcher the case.

Even adding 150W for a second gtx470, you would be in the 500~550w range which is 65-70% load of a 750W psu, if it's a good one it should handle without any issues.
That sounds about right. I don't recall off-hand exactly how much power I draw under load but I believe it's around 500+w when I play BulletStorm. That's according to the APC watt-meter built into my UPS. It's measuring AC watts too BTW, so calculate the PSU efficiency into that.

lol i had 12 answers in a matter of 5 minutes and none in the last 45... So im still unsure if i should stick with the 1000w xion or go with the 750w fatal1ty when im going to be running SLI. And if those rubber feet that hold the psu up supply enough airflow as im not thrilled about the upside down psu...

Tons of PSU's are run upside down, to take advantage of a vent in the bottom of cases so you should be fine. I'm not sure about which is "better" since both will probably be enough.

Why did you get the new PSU? Can you return it?

Yes i could still return the psu, I have a 550w fatal1ty that I love still use it and its years old. I like the flat modular cable design and the red led The xion 100w is a beast, alot bigger and heavier than the ocz. Im thinking the xion might be the better choice but if someone could take a look at the specs of both and give their opinion and or pros and cons i would really appreciate it..

there also is no vent on the bottom of the antec 1200 just the feet which give it about 1" clearance i really didnt want to cut or drill the case if i don't have to

I say "Bigger is ALWAYS better!" Personally I prefer an over-rated psu as I would rather run it at 1/2 load than max it out. Psu's are rated for their best efficiency at 1/2 load anyway. Stick with the Xion if you like that brand.

It says Fatal1ty on it. You'll be just fine with any amount of hardware you throw on those rails.

That is actually not the case however I am going to let Phaedrus respond since I would only be copying info from his threads.

You will always be better off getting a quality psu that meets your needs as opposed to getting a crappy 1200w one.

Oh god. It was the OCZ i liked. Im just worried that 750w will be insufficient for the 2x 470's on a high end i7 rig with 12gb of ram.... sigh what to do... which is better.... im driving myself nuts..... is there any good un-bias psu calc's out there. for example i feel as if the ones supplied by the company that makes the psu tells you more power so you spend more money....... dammit......
