Is It Enough Power?!?! - Page 4

Ok, The verdict is in. Going with the 1000x xion to ensure plenty of power for the rig. I will either keep the 750w for my c2q/470 rig or return it and use the cash for something else. The way I see it, like most, I'd rather have more than enough power than cut it close. maybe I will invest in a better cpu cooler or some new fans for the 1200. I really appreciate all the info and advice.

Just for my last question that I haven't got a answer to yet. Am I safe to run fan down on the Antec 1200 without cutting or drilling holes in it. The rubber feet do give it about 3/4" clearing to draw air in still or is it to risky, It really screws up cable management plans if I have to flip the psu fan up.. Thanks again...

Fan down works. You don't need a ton of clearance for adequate airflow. With all the full-tower cases out there that could hide a battleship, it's tough cable managing and making them stretch far enough without adding jumpers. I have an A1200 and I know it's a TALL case. Good Luck!

Yeah the flat modular cables were one of the big Plus's in my book as even if i didn't run the cables behind the back plate they wouldn't look terribly bad. I Have been reading tons of threads in this psu forum and it seems many people are using </= to the 750w that I'd like to use. I seen a guy with like dual 280mm rads all water cooled system and tri 480 or 580 sli on a ocz 1000w !!! If anything i would have thought xion to be a worse brand than ocz for power supplies. And i figured the dual gpu sli rated ocz 750w fatal1ty gaming series would have more than fitted my needs for 2x 470's sli. This whole psu thing has been driving me nuts. I would really like Phaedrus2129's opinion but I understand people are busy... Wishing my ocz750 was a 1000
