Getting a 1055t to 4GHz - Page 3

Sometimes motherboard is the issue with OC-ing, but I don't believe anyone has had any issue with 1055T on M4A89GTD PRO/USB3; in fact x6 usually works best wtih the latest chipsets, there've been some exceptions too (i.e. my case with the 790X). I think the Crosshair II is somewhat older.

Not good to hear...

I'm really running out of ideas...I tried throwing 1.35 on the mobo NB but still no dice. What else could it be? LLC and CPU/NB are on...

What about CPU-VDDA?

UPDATE

It's funny how fickle some CPUs are. Even with 1.6v, it simply would not do 4.0Ghz.

So I've come to the conclusion that this processor hates 4Ghz...And now for the good news...It apparently LOVES 3.9Ghz @1.525v and a 3000Mhz CPU/NB (!!!) at 1.375v! I was able to run about 40mins of OCCT before locking up--and I know it's temperature related. It's midday and my oil bath (for those of you who don't know, I have an oil submersion rig) is about 5c warmer than normal. I'll run the test again tomorrow morning and see how it fairs. I have no doubt it will pass.

Here's where I am at right now:

CPU: 13x300 (3.9Ghz) @1.525v
CPU/NB: 3000Mhz @1.375v
RAM: 1600 CL9 @1.8v

I will take a 3Ghz CPU/NB over a measly 100Mhz any day. I have to say, I was a little worried when I upgraded (sidegraded?) from my 955 (4Ghz/2.6Ghz) to this 1055t, but the dip in CPU frequency is surely offset by the extra 2 cores and the now blazing-fast CPU/NB. I'm hoping this will net me better performance in games.

Maybe if my AS5 decides to cure a little better I might be able to kick up the multi to 13.5 and give 4.05Ghz a shot in the coming weeks. Until then, I am stoked that I finally got this thing to a decent overclock.

Comments/concerns welcome. Thanks everyone!

I've had a similar issue with my 1055T and getting to 4Ghz for a while. Its basically a game of give and take on voltage and settings. Finally I am at 4.05Ghz after running 20 IBT on MAX. My system will boot into 4.2Ghz but crashes on IBT. Working on that one now.

This is exactly where I'd like to be. For now, I am totally cool with 3.9Ghz and 3000Mhz NB. I just passed my hour of OCCT this morning! Screenshot coming up...
