Need to change, I ask you !

Hi guys !

I'm currently using the MX518 (old version, with 5 feets), in palm grip. Unfortunately, it's gonna broke soon (it disconects very often, my previous mx518 did that too, it's the beginning of the end) and I don't like the new 518 version, so i'm screwed.

Anyway, it's a chance to change. I'm a low sensivity player, so I don't care about high DPI. I'm using the Puretrak Talent mousepad.

I tested the IME 1.1, overclocked to 500hz, but i can't play with the mousewheel bug, I use it to jump so it's very boring. There's another problem, when I move the mouse very fast with a large movement, it "lags" like "hey you're asking me too much !" (yes my mouse talks to me). I noticed the same problem with the xai, very strange thing that I don't have with the 518. Anyway, xai was too fast on my mousepad.

I'm thinking about the ZOWIE mice, what about it ? I know the size difference between EC1 and EC2 but is the EC1 bigger or heavier than the mx518 ? What about the friction ? I like how my 518 feels on my puretrak talent. Basically, how to compare these mice to the 518 and the 1.1 ?

Thanks a lot !

PS: I heard about a simple manipulation to switch the Zowie mice to 500Hz (instead of 1000) without any program. Is that true ?

From derp's review it seem like the polling rate can be set to 500hz, and another review said they weigh about 100g.

Personally I'm waiting for the Puretrak Valor to come out, it's the same price as the Zowie and apparently much lighter.

Don't really like the razer style, but thanks.

Ok, thanks. So it's for the EC2.

Anyone else ? Someone got the EC1 ?

Something like the MX518 would be the Mionix Naos 3200/A4TECH X-718BK. What is wrong with the new MX518?

Everyone I've asked says the EC1/2 feet are low friction.

If I were you I would just try replacing the cord on your mx518.

G500, G5? Lower the DPI, my father puts weights in his AND lowers the DPI to the lowest, he likes it...hates high DPI, it is similar to the MX518, I believe

The shape of the new 518 is a little bit different, the sensor feels different and the feets are different. Too much difference for me. Thanks for your answer smile.gif

Ok, that's a good point for the EC1/2.

I would LOVE to replace the cord (that's definitely the problem, if I pull the cord I can hear the disconecting sound) but i'm really noob is that kind of things. I don't know how to do this, and if I send it to Logitech they will just give me the new version...
