Why isn't this up with the newer nvidia card.. say a 560/570..
OP I would suggest getting the ATI card cause. it's much more than the 470 when overclocked, and runs cooler.
I own a GTX 470 and overclocked to 800 mhz, it is almost on par with a stock 480..if you can quantify how you can calculate that to a 480 vs. a 6950/70. then you got your answer.
I say get the ATI card, and run it for a bit. 60 dollars isn't so bad.
The reason im doing a 470 is because all the other 5XX series is overpriced currentlly, but i will look up GTX480 vs HD6970 and see whats what, im not saying ill get the 470 because temps might be an issue, but im definitly liking the 60$+ savings.
EDIT- Just did GTX480 vs HD6970 and the 480 was better than the 6970 in everything but AF, which im not sure qhy the 400 series is so bad at AF, what is the determining factor in AF IS it core speed or memory speed or just architecture?
Either way the performance gain was like 1% in some areas factor that in with the increased heat and power, plus that is an OC GTX470 so i cant Oc it any higher while i can OC the 697 much higher, im going with the 6950 and UL it to a 6970, thanks mmost of you for your valid input.Edited by Smoblikat - 4/14/11 at 4:38pm
