HI all need some help
first off i got my pc hooked up to my samsung 1080p 46in hdtv.
i have 2 480,s in 2 way sli and using the hdmi cable pluged in to the top card to my tv.
But when ever i start the pc or befor i start a game or run stuff like 3dmark
my screen will go black for like 10 seconds and says searching for singal.
just want to know if i got some thing hooked up wrong or dose that alway happen.

Anytime an HDMI device is activated it will sync and cause the screen to go to that "search for signal" screen. This is typically referred to as "handshake". But it does this when you open programs? That seems odd.

The programs are games and a system benchmark, so no problem there.



I know mine doesn't do it, but what TV do you have? Cheap-o?

it was.nt cheep to me it was like 1400.
it a samsung LN46B540 46" 1080p LCD HDTV

So you say it happens when you open 3DMark. Any other games or programs? And do you have them set at a resolution different than 1080p?

It's because whatever your launching is at a different resolution than the tv

i just want to know if its normal. not all programs just games video benchmarks and when i turn the pc on.
