Actually i think it would help them. Look at it this way.

What is easier for a developer to create a working game for? Consoles. Why? The hardware doesn't change at all. There are no variables for them to work around. They can optimize the crap out of it and not have to consider if the user has an intel or amd cpu, if the user has an AMD or Nvidia gpu, ect...

Add the keyboard and mouse and they are going to increase the amount of people using them.

I hate consoles, i am a purist, and i like my AA. But, it looks like developers are sticking with consoles, as it is glaringly obvious with the massive amount of ports in the last few years. Add a keyboard and mouse with updated hardwarenext round of consoles and its going to be another nail in the coffin.

Also, adding keyboard and mouse support opens up consoles to new genres. MMORPGs and RTSs which, until they do, only work on PCs.

YEAH you are absolutely 100% undoubtedly right!

Now where can I go bash those that use gamepads on their PCs? Gamepads on PCs? Get a console!

you can bash me, i use a controller on PC, so sue me.

Although it is for games like Just cause 2 and whatnot, in which a controller is better. But for FPSes? kb/m obviously.

I do the same. Racing games as well (since I'm not forking over a bunch of money for a steering wheel).

True, but there's no harm in playing the game you purchased for PS3 and play Portal 2 on your PC, as you receive a PC copy.

Actually, it's the other way around. The majority of PC users don't care about performance or anything like that. All they want is either entertainment, work tasks, social networking etc

If a console came with keyboard/mouse and internet browsing abilities, PC's would take the massive hit, not consoles. Why buy a $1500 gaming PC when you can buy a $400 console that does the "same" thing?

PS4 (for arguements sake)
-Internet Browsing
-Social Networking built in/easy to add
-Blu Ray
-Gaming
-Rougly $500 to get going. Another $200 for extras? Ok. $700
-TV at your command. It's ON a TV.
-Easy to use... 8 year old's all over the world are Xbox pro's.

Gaming PC
-MAYBE Blu Ray (in most cases not)
-MAYBE Gaming (Depends on cost)
-Internet/Social Networking easily
-$500-$1500
-Takes up WAY more space
-Requires a DESK
-More problems (20 components vs ~2 components)
-Pretty much requires building it yourself for high performance
-*Viruses* Big deal for the uninformed
-Software cost (Office, Windows, etc)
-Cannot watch TV without a TV Tuner
-"HARD" to use for anyone who hasn't used one much

So even if you cheap on the PC and spend $1000, you're doubling the price for the same thing pretty much....

I own a PS3 and it's a dust collector. I don't like consoles at all... but I realize the obvious issue here.

I know that some of the guys on here hate consoles but consoles will ALWAYS be the best bang for the buck and some people have higher priorities in life than gaming.
You can build something with the same performance as a console for wayyy cheaper. If they are building something that cheap I doubt they will want to upgrade it, it defeats the purpose of building a cheap rig.

Build a $500 rig put it to low res BAM! cosole right there..
