Best Docsis 3.0 cable modem?

Comcast is forcing me to upgrade my cable modem so I was wondering what you all would recommend for Docsis 3.0 compatible so I can sit on it for another several years. Thank you for your advice.

Either the MOTOROLA SBG6580 or the MOTOROLA SB6120 will do perfectly for you.

They sent you a message or letter? Curious since I still have an old Docsis 2.0 and haven't received any notice, although the digital transport adapter letter this past week annoyed me to no end.

They actually called me and said I have until the end of the month. My current cable modem that I bought over 7 years ago is a Docsis 1.1 compliant Linksys model. The tech that called said they are moving to Docsis 2.0 minimum. I want Docsis 3.0 so I can sit on it again for another several years to maximize my investment.

For a reference, I asked the guy that called me how much to rent the modem from Comcast, he said its an extra 7 dollars a month. The amount of money I saved over the last few years by owning and not renting is enough for me to finally upgrade.
