Antec 900 Thoughts

Thread Starter
I just wanted to share some thoughts on this case and on Antec cases in general.

I just want to say that this case is probably the worst case I have ever seen used in a computer. The cable management just plain sucks. There are places in the back where they could have easily drilled holes to pass cables through, instead its just a solid piece of metal.

Now I remember this case being 120 -150$ new. I have seen Thermaltake cases that cost 38$ have better design and cable management than this Antec 900.

So I guess what I'm saying is if anyone is new to computer building like I was at the time I bought this case, you should stay away from Antec. In the years since I have built many computers for friends and family and every time I tried a case from Fractal or Thermaltake they were always way cheaper and had superior build quality.

I will have to buy a new case this summer most likely because frankly I am sick of this crap Antec 900. I was thinking it will most likely be something made by Thermaltake, the cheap V4's that I've used in builds impressed the hell out of me.

The original anyway, cost me 100 bucks, I looked at it close up, and decided that I would need a ton of holes cut to get decent cable management, so I sold it and bought a RV02, really nice case. The only good thing about the 900 v1 is the looks imho.

I didn't even build with it btw, I built after sandy bridge was released about 9 months after I bought the case XD don't ask why I bought it so early

You mad bro?

Really though, Antec has never been known for good cable management. Cutting your own holes is quite easy though. After some modding I am extremely happy with mine and would never trade it for a CM or Tt.

That's got to be the most intelligent thing I've ever read.

Cutting your own holes is not easy if you don't have a dremmel, what do you expect me to pull out my exacto blade or scissors and start hacking away at it? lol Antec sucks, I would trade mine for a Coolmaster or Thermaltake V series any day.

I've built many computers and seen what the other cases look like and Antec is by far the worst.

I think I got my 902 and a Seagate 500 GB drive for $135 in a NewEgg combo. I've seen the 902 at under $100 and it seems like a respectable product as such. I like mine.

Cooler Master Storm Scout =] Can't go wrong with one, although it limits to what GPU you can purchase =[ instead of 1xGTX580, I am stuck with 2xGTX560Ti's (Due to Harddrive cage of course)

But if you do decided to purchase a new case, you'll love the Storm scout, its sleek, clean awesome air flow(Amazing cable management) and has a handle to carry it around.

No dremel for me. Definitely took a drill and jigsaw to my Antec 900 though.
