Hey, I didn't mean to insult OP, but a 1080p monitor and 1080p hdtv of the same size will look the same, differences may include colour quality refresh rate etc (which tend to remain similar unless you get an extremely expensive monitor). On the issue of size, the bigger screen will have less pixel density (more surface for same amount of pixels), but this is a non-issue because you would sit farther back. what I meant by don't get cocky is that around here there are people who have extremely high quality monitors (colour quality, refresh rate, etc) and you should not compare your screen with theirs, but rather with the more mainstream monitors.

I think OP is half right. Sure the 32in Bravia can look as good or better than a 24in Samsung monitor. I have a 32in Samsung tv that looks as good actually colors look better and text crisper than my Asus 24in monitor, but mentioning monitors in the range of 26, 27, and 30in is not correct. They will have much higher resolutions than any HDTV can provide and many will have crisper better looking pictures.

Probably just went overboard a little and got caught up in the moment enjoying his Sony Bravia.

I am thinking of upgrading my 22 inch monitor to a 32-42 inch 1080p screen and this has helped me out a bit thanks for the posts everyone. I mostly watch youtube and online movies so it should work out fine in my situation.

So when someone comes out and says they enjoy a product you bash the hell out of him and when you he doesn't enjoy a product, you bash him for not getting the product he would've enjoyed. Nice.

Personally 32 inch gaming with 1080p is still fun, and with the right HDTV everything will still be clear for web surfing. I dont see why people make it a point to make sure OP understands that true 30" 1600 res is vastly superior, im not saying its not, but you cant let him enjoy it?

Because this is a forum.... threads are not just about the OP, when people are deciding what hardware to buy, they browse threads just like this one. I'm happy for the OP, but I, and I'm sure others here, want to make it very clear to others who stumble upon this thread, that there is a large difference between a 32 inch tv and a 30 inch monitor. The op claimed they were the same resolution, that is false and it would be a shame if someone looking into a monitor were to make a purchase based off of that assumption.
