Really? Cause if you're just concerned about your "performance" you may as well go as low as you possibly can right?

You're the one criticizing 25 x 16 because of the "performance hit" without understanding why 25 x 16 is just as superior to 1920 x 1080 as 1920 x 1080 is over 1024 x 768.

People are giving him a hard time about his grammar. If he is deaf that kinda answers the question of "why" his grammar is not perfect. Hell most people on here that hear fine have horrible grammar.

Wow, are you really that stupid?

2560x1600 looks really really nice, 1920x1080 looks pretty damn good.

1024x768 looks like ******* ass.

The visual quality increase from going to 2560x1600 from 1920x1080 doesnt warrant the performance drop for me.

But the performance drop from going to 1920x1080 from 1024x768 is MORE than worth it.

Don't be such an idiot.

Man, reading this thread from start to finish was a ride. Before people make comments they need to understand how things work and what things do. This is a forum and people come here to formulate buying decisions and upgrade paths. If people are chucking out the wrong information all the time it just leads to uneducated consumers buying things they don't need.

To the OP. If the TV works for you, that's great and I am happy that you are more than satisfied with your decision. However, in the future, try to refrain from opening the thread with things like, "My TV is just as good as a 30in monitor display." I would guarantee that a 30in IPS would blow away your 32in TV. No questions asked.

To the trolls in this thread. If you disagree with something the OP said, just step in and say that you "disagree." There is no need to call people idiots and the like. Try and carry on an educated conversation about the thread instead of acting like a bunch of children.

In the end, everyone is entitled to their OWN opinion. However, be sure that you understand that it is only an Opinion.

I have a 32" Sony Bravia HDTV as well, and it's poor for PC use compared to a real monitor. However, mine is 720p (1360x768), and yours seems to be 1080p (1920x1080), so I imagine that makes it much more acceptable. The poor clarity due to the large size and low resolution in my case is why it looks so bad. Don't get me wrong, it looks "alright" for games and television, but for PC/Windows use, forget it. The text lacks sharpness/clarity. Even my 1600x1200 CRT is much cleaner with text, and LCDs are almost always clearer at text than even good CRTs, so I imagine a nice 27"-30" 2560x1600 LCD would just blow the HDTV away.

I'm the same way. I use 1600x1200 and ever since I moved up from like 1280x960, I stopped using my browser fullscreen. It's probably around the size of 1280x960 or so.

I don't see a problem with those who prefer it doing so though. Not everyone multitasks, so for them, the extra space is preferred, even if most sites don't need or even use it.

Ugh... of course pixel density was bad on a 1920x1080 TV at 40in. Pixel density though can easily be compensated for by pushing the TV further away from you. Everyone ragging on OP about not using a high res 30" instead must have pretty sharp eyes or be sitting far too close to their monitor. 27" and lower is different, but you shouldn't be poking your nose on your 30" monitor.

I've played SC2 on my 40" Samsung at about 4ft away and it was a very positive experience. It's not practical enough for me to do it 24/7 though, so I instead just have my 23" LCDs much closer.
