Reformatting with SSD/HD Question

Thread Starter

EDIT: Sorry, I posted in the wrong forum. I apologize, if mod could move this thread I would appreciate it.

Hi guys, I currently have 60GB SSD as my primary disk and 500GB HD as my secondary disk. I have Windows 7 and primary applications installed on my SSD and I have Steam/Games under my HD. I would like to reformat my SSD without reformating my HD.

So my questions are:

Should I disconnect my secondary HD when reformating my SSD and reconnect it afterwards?

Would applications installed under my HD still working after formating SSD and reconnecting? (Such as Steam and Games)

I currently have AHCI mode enabled in my BIOs and under my Windows 7 registry, would I need to revert this back to IDE when reformatting my SSD? or can I leave it as it is and when Windows 7 is reinstalled go through the registry to enable AHCI mode again?

Thanks all
